THE GATHERING

                                                                * Stand if willing and able

Gathering Music: #450 “Be Thou My Vision”

Welcome and Announcements

Prelude: “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” by Helen H. Lemmel

* Call to Worship

Let us bless the Lord at all times,

May we praise God continually.

Let our souls boast in the Lord,

May the humble hear and be glad.

O magnify the Lord, O ye people,

Let us exalt God’s name together!

Let us pray together:

* Prayer of the Day

Merciful God, you always hear us when we cry out. You stay close when we are in distress. It is you in whom we seek refuge, and you deliver us from evil. Let praise flow from our mouths to your ears, for we can taste and see that you are indeed good. All glory, praise, and honor are due to you, O God, our redeemer and our strength. Amen.

* Hymn of Praise #852 “When the Lord Redeems the Very Least”

* Invitation to Healing

Let us confess our shortcomings to God, who alone has the power to save and waits in mercy to forgive.

* Prayer of Wholeness

Eternal God, we confess that we sometimes fail to seek your will. When the poor cry out for help, we often pass them by, or when we dare to listen to them, we still fail to offer the handout they ask us for.  When the weak reveal their strength, we feel threatened and want to silence their voices. Forgive us yet again, God of grace. Teach us how we might be blessing and wholeness – for the good of your great earth, all her creatures, and our fellow beings.

* Hymn #471 “O Lord, Hear My Prayer(Repeat 3x)

* Assurance of God’s Presence and Passing of the Peace

Friends, believe this Good News: God is One and God is Three – Love constantly flowing in, out, and through; the gift of Jesus Christ for me and for you. For this we say: Thanks be to God!

Since God has loved us through Christ, let us love one another. The grace and peace of our Lord be with you!

And also with you!

Please share a sign of peace with those with whom you are worshiping.

People are free to seek life within the purpose of God: to develop and protect the resources of nature for the common welfare, to work for justice and peace in society, and in other ways to use their creative powers for the good of all life.
