Welcome and Announcements

Prelude: “My Shepherd Will Supply My Need” arr. Mark Hayes

* Call to Worship

God is faithful: Christ is coming,

to raise the poor from the dust.

God is faithful: Christ is coming,

to judge and rule the earth.

Let us pray together:

* Prayer of the Day

Eternal God, as human kingdoms crumble and earthly temples turn to dust,you remain faithful: our rock and salvation. Build us up as the temple of your Spirit so that we may stand firm in hope and faith; through Jesus Christ, the cornerstone. Amen.

* Hymn of Praise #352 “My Lord! What a Morning”

* Invitation to Wholeness

Let us confess our sins to the one who sacrificed for us and waits in mercy to forgive.

* Prayer of Wholeness

Eternal God, we confessthat we have failed to seek your will. You warn us of what is to come,but we ignore the signs of the times. You promise us a new creation,but we cling to the ruins of this world.  Forgive us, God of grace.Wash away the stain of our sin and keep us faithful in love and in deed, while we await your coming in glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

            Please observe a moment of silent prayer, then sing as one voice:

* Kyrie #437 “You Are the Lord, Giver of Mercy

* Assurance of Pardon and Passing of the Peace

Friends, believe this Good News: God is One and God is Three – Love constantly flowing in, out, and through; the gift of Jesus Christ for me and for you. For this we say:

Thanks be to God!

Since God has loved us through Christ, let us love one another; the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!

And also with you!

Let us share signs of peace.

* Affirmation of Faith: Adapted from the Confession of 1967, 9.22

New life in Christ takes shape in a community in which people know that God loves and accepts them in spite of what they are.  They therefore accept themselves and love others, knowing that no one has any ground on which to stand, except God’s grace.
